Isotope analysis of burials at nearby Cliffs End Farm traced Bronze Age migrants from Scandinavia and the Western Mediterranean, some aged between three and twelve. Cliffsend itself was already a recognisable settlement by 1797, clustered at the junction of Foads Lane and Cottington Road.
Moyes Close has one mapped police incident on record. Two nearby incidents stand out: an attempted door-handle burglary on Foads Lane in January 2022, and vehicle interference across Cliffsend between 02:00 and 03:00 on 3 January 2026, when suspects were tracked by a dog unit but not found.
Thanet Parkway, which opened on 31 July 2023 as the district's first new station in 97 years, sits a short distance from the close, connected via a refurbished underpass. The proposed Sea Link electricity cable, whose route crosses land near Cliffsend and Pegwell Bay, was still awaiting a Secretary of State decision expected 30 October 2026.
The ground around Moyes Close holds more history than its surface suggests: a chalk pit marked on OS maps from about 1858 was levelled by 2021, and a wartime gun pit with a 31-metre slit trench stood west of the village before disappearing by April 1950. Public Right of Way TR32 still threads beneath the railway embankment behind Earlsmead Crescent.
A Primitive Methodist chapel on Foads Lane, built in 1871 and closed in 1945, reopened as the Church of England's St Mary the Virgin in 1954 and is still in use. On the Pegwell Bay clifftop, the Viking longship Hugin, which sailed from Denmark in 1949, sits permanently alongside the footprint of the world's first purpose-built hoverport.
